Game Design
Astro-LL
Astro-LL was a six week project designed and created by Adam, Claire and myself. The game was inspired by Jack pack Joyride, an endless running game. Astro-LL was coded by Adam on GameSalad. Claire and myself focused on the design of the game, sharing our design ideas across the game.
Myself and Claire used Photoshop and illustrator to design each asset. The design for Level one (The Invasion) was based off of space-ship interior. The aim of the game is to collect as many coins as possible, while tapping the screen to dodge lasers, trap holes and enemies.

Testing and Audio
Testing was key during the building process. We iterated back and forward with GameSalad and our designs on a regular basis. User testing helped us redesign key elements in the game, as the user feedback highlighted areas that needed adjusting. Some areas of the game were too hard while others lacked exciting elements. After constant iterations of user feedback from testing, we were able to pack the game out with exciting action features.
The background track playing throughout the game is original, it was made on a software called Logic using different plug-ins like delay, pitch changer and many more. I made the song by recording different keyboard notes and chords and formed a grid of drums, shakers, and different sound effects to create the music. The voice you can hear at each level was done by a recording by Claire. Then I edited her vocals on Logic and changed the pitch, speed, and distortion on it. This was done to give us the sound of a person’s muffled voice on a radio frequency.
